What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
I enjoy being able to bring people together with my groups, seeing members begin new friendships is amazing to see,
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
I mainly enjoy any crafts like making slime, painting. I also enjoy competitive games like basketball battleship, we also began to write scary books.
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
My favorite memory with my mentee is our first time meeting, we both were nervous and weren’t as open as much but we both made a joke and we started to laugh.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
I would tell them to do it, dont over think anything its a great experience and you get to build a lot of memories with your mentee.

What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
I enjoy building meaningful connections with my mentees and getting to know them on a personal level. Creating strong relationships with them is one of the most rewarding parts of mentoring.
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
Some of my favourite activities to do with my mentee include going on walks and playing board games with them.
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
One memory with my mentee that always makes me smile is when we laugh and joke around while playing games together.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
The advice I would give them is to give it a try, because mentoring creates meaningful and rewarding relationships. Not only do you help build up your mentee, but you also grow and learn from the experience yourself.

What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
I most enjoy building genuine connections with my mentees and getting to watch them and their confidence grow. Knowing that I can be a positive light and influence in their lives by simply showing up is truly inspiring.
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
Some of my favourite activities to complete with my mentees include making pipe cleaner flowers, colouring, playing badminton and playing Uno.
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
One memory with my mentee that still makes me smile is when I arrived at the school and she was sitting in the office with a smile on her face and said “I knew you were coming!”. This made my day as I know she looks forward to our sessions and getting to spend time with one another.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE is that the little things matter more than you think. Simply showing up consistently, listening, and being present is exactly what makes a fun and successful match!
KEARA
What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
I enjoy making a difference in the mentees lives, even small. I enjoy being able to show up and having a connection that is consistent for the mentees. I also enjoy learning new, fun things with the mentees.
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
During the time with the mentees I enjoy making slime with them, talking with them, and learning new things. I enjoy playing table games with the littles and having a fun competitive side with them. Most of all, I enjoy doing everything my mentees would like to do.
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
One memory that makes me smile is my mentee saying they have always wanted an older sister and she looks up to me for advice and as a best friend. I am her “Twin one”. Another memory with my second mentee is I will always smile about him telling me he wanted a male mentor but I am super fun and nice and he wants to see me next year!
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
My advice for someone would be have fun, let yourself be active with listening and hearing the mentees. Be open for ideas, new games/activities, or conversations. Being “there” present with the mentee is important.

What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
I enjoy being a mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters because it is very rewarding to see the youth grow into their confidence. I like being able to be a part of their support system and watch them progress positively.
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
Some of my favourite activities to do with my mentees are baking, going outside, and uno.
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
One memory that makes me smile is when I think about the day my mentee and I went outside to play on the equipment and during this they told me something personal that I was honoured that they trusted me enough to share.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
Youth do not need you to be perfect or have all of the right answers, sometimes youth just need someone who can spend time with them and be present

What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
I enjoy building a connection with the mentees and doing fun activities with them.
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
I like to make slime and bracelets with my mentees. I also like having discussions.
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
One memory that makes me smile with my mentee is when she showed me her dance moves based on the song by Blackpink
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
Be present – the mentees notice.

What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
I enjoy making meaningful connections and I enjoy knowing that I can be something they look forward to in their day!
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
Some of my favourite activities are going outside for a walk/play a game, making slime, and headbandz
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
During charades, the way my mentee was trying to act out a prompt was really funny. For my other mentee, she likes to dance a lot and sometimes we dance together.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
I would say be consistent and be yourself. It is very rewarding being a mentor.
SOPHIA
What do you enjoy about being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex?
Something I enjoy about being a mentor is being able to build strong and meaningful relationships. I also enjoy being someone that is there for them and getting to be someone that my mentee can talk to for support.
What are some of your favourite activities to do with your Mentee/Little?
Some of my favourite activities are making friendship bracelets, playing board games, and talking with them.
What is one memory with your Mentee/Little that still makes you smile?
When we first matched and played pictionary, we laughed over our drawings that we were trying to guess. Walking and talking outside on a nice day after Winter had ended.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a mentor with BBBSWE?
Some advice I would give is just to have fun and create meaningful memories with your mentee while being there to support them.
