We are excited to announce the creation of the Barbara Browning Family Assistance Fund in honour of long-time employee, friend, mentor, and community advocate Barbara Browning.
“Barbara’s kindness and compassion are driven by her strong empathy for single parent-led families and other marginalized groups such as newcomers to Canada or families living in poverty. Barbara is retiring from BBBSWE, and we are honouring her 30 years of commitment and dedication by creating this fund. It will support the purchase of items that will alleviate social, economic, and recreational pressures and will make the lives of our families a little easier.”
– Becky Parent, Executive Director
“During my 30 years at BBBS I have seen many challenges, but also the incredible successes this wonderful agency has had on the children, youth, and the families we serve. I imagine this fund as an opportunity to pay it forward…to ensure that the opportunities I received along the way are extended to others who are just as deserving.”
– Barbara Browning
“I am grateful and humbled to have this fund established in my honour. It holds a deep and profound significance in my life by providing a legacy that will have a positive impact on the lives of others. It reflects the values and principles that I hold dear of the importance of serving others and the belief that we can all give a little to help a lot.”

WE NEED YOUR HELP
By no fault of their own, young people are born into circumstances that can cause high levels of stress including living in poverty, being separated from family, being bullied at school or witnessing violence.
There are so many expenses that our families face, especially as we enter the holiday and winter months. They will make requests through us and funds will be allocated based on need as well as monies available.
“Thank you for all you have already done to support our children, youth, families, volunteers, and staff. I am so grateful that you will consider donating to the BBFAF. Our agency has such a positive impact on our community, I consider myself so fortunate to have been part of this remarkable organization and through this fund continue to influence and uplift future generations.”
– Barbara Browning
THANK YOU
Our thanks to ROVA Machine for their generous leadership gift. Thanks to their donation the BBFAF is ready to assist and support our families this holiday season and all through the year.
“ROVA Machine is pleased to support Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex. Their programs and services let children and youth know they matter. Some of these relationships last a lifetime and Friends turn into FAMILY.”
