This summer, we have been incredibly fortunate to be able to offer a Summer Camp to approximately 80 children. This amazing experience has been entirely funded as a result of a very generous donation courtesy of all of the local McDonald’s restaurants through their 2019 McHappy Day event. This investment in the future of our community and partnership with McDonald’s will help our campers to achieve more.
Our summer camp is deliberately designed to unlock potential and improve the physical & emotional well-being of children through fun and engaging activities, opening up possibilities by stimulating both body and mind. Every camp day begins with a well-rounded healthy and delicious breakfast, followed by planned activities a healthy lunch and more.
The activities range from field trips to public parks with our own BIG version of the Amazing Race to swimming at the Remington Park pool (the one with the BIG Slide!!). We’ve also brought campers to the Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Colassanti’s, Greenview Averies and Point Pelee.
Hooping it Up!!
Some other wonderful community partners like members of the St. Clair College men basketball team came to our Agency to shoot some hoops with the kids. As well the children learned about healthy eating after through a presentation from another incredible local organization making a difference in our community BANA.
The camp has and continues to be a Big Deal for our campers who are all a Big Deal in their own right.
