Ann has been a committed Mentor at our agency for over one year. During her involvement at our agency Ann has been involved in being a Big Sister, In-School Mentor, Ignite Academy co-facilitator and Go Squad Mentor. Ann was a CYC Placement Student at our agency from St. Clair College for the 2022-2023 school year. During her time at our agency Ann has gone above and beyond to develop a positive relationship with the children/youth that she works with by providing them with a positive role model, the opportunity to try new things and feel empowered in the mentoring relationship. Ann’s mentee has expressed looking forward to seeing Ann each week as she enjoys their one-on-one time together and all the fun they have laughing, smiling and telling jokes together. Ann has made a positive impact on the lives of children/youth throughout her time involved and Big Brothers Big Sisters programming would not be possible without awesome mentors like Ann!

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to take Alicija out to the community where we can do activities that we both love and explore new adventures together. We have shared a lot of firsts and a lot of experimenting, but it is always fun and exciting to try new activities!

Every visit to Lilly’s school starts with her running towards me with a big smile on her face that just melts my heart. I love all the activities we do, from beating me in card games and soccer, the thoughtful arts and crafts gifts we prepare for her family and friends, building Halloween and Christmas cookie houses, to finally perfecting that cloud slime!

In a short span of time, I have witnessed both my Little Sisters blossom and flourish. It has been my honor and pleasure to be a part of their lives as someone who can highlight their strengths or be that person who will listen to and validate them. I may be their mentor, but being their Big Sister has taught me a lot as well”.
