Takes on Role As Director of Development and Donor Relations

 

WINDSOR – Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor-Essex is proud to announce the recent appointment of Kieran McKenzie as the Agency’s new Director of Development and Donor Relations. McKenzie, a recently elected Windsor City Councillor comes to the Agency after spending 12 years as an Assistant to Brian Masse M.P. (Windsor West). Prior to accepting this position McKenzie served on the Agency’s Board of Directors for nearly 5 years.

McKenzie commented on the opportunity to continue to work with a difference-making organization dedicated to youth mentorship: “I am incredibly thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to work with Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor-Essex. For decades this Agency has been positively contributing to the well-being of our children and as a result to the community as a whole. Understanding the crucial work that we do I am honoured to accept this position and look forward to working with my new colleagues and all stakeholders invested in the mentorship movement.” McKenzie stated.

Becky Parent, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex talked about McKenzie coming to the agency:  “Kieran has already been a part of the BBBS mentoring movement for many years now as a volunteer where he has been instrumental in affecting positive change to both our organizational structure and culture.  His professional experience has provided him with a broad and in depth knowledge of our community, many relationships, as well as many years of volunteer and campaign management and fundraising. As children in the region continue to face increasing challenges, creating even greater need for our services in the community, we are excited to have such knowledge and community experience as part of our leadership team.”

McKenzie joins Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor-Essex during the Bowl for Kids Sake week. This is the Agency’s highest revenue generating initiative taking place over 2 weekends. This past weekend bowlers rolled at Empire Lanes in Leamington, this Friday and Saturday hundreds of bowlers will hit the lanes at the Rose Bowl to support youth mentorship across the region.
