Our Mentor of the Month for April is Josh! Josh has been a Mentor since May 2019 to Alex in Amherstburg.
Alex was on the wait list for 4 years before he was matched to Josh and both Alex and his mom have said that Josh was “worth the wait”
Josh has been a consistent Mentor and someone Alex has really been able to count on!
Here is what Josh has shared about his experience: “Volunteering with Big Brothers has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has not only given me a chance to make a positive impact on a child’s life but also helped my little brother Alex and me grow in so many ways. Through our experiences together, we have developed a strong bond and have learned so much from each other. From playing Fortnite to cooking meals together, we have shared many special moments that have enriched our lives. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a Big Brother and see how much of a difference it has made in Alex’s life.”
Alex shared “Josh is the closest I’ve come to having a brother and I know he’s always there for me if I need him we’ve always gotten along well as we share a lot of interest. We both like video games so we play a lot of online games together and we both like sci-fi so there’s a plethora of movie options for us to watch together but at the end of the day, what we do doesn’t matter. I always enjoy spending time with Josh and I’m very happy we matched”
